Ye its crazy here in SD where they show up. We have had a couple of wet years so they show up in all of these little drainages. If there is a cornfield nearby they are good to go. We are about 20 miles from the Missouri River so I think they migrate up from there in wet years. That creek is bone dry about 3/4 of a mile behind the dam. Starting to dry up so I enjoy trapping them when they show up. I don't count myself as a true beaver trapper! Those guys amaze me!
