Darn near impossible to find any gas here without ethanol, but I’m still looking.

It's kinda heavily advertised here in virginia. We have ethanol free gas. It probably helps that I am outside the corn belt.

In farm county here the non-alcohol is being replaced with a super alcohol blend now so your choice will be 10% alcohol or this mystery super alcohol.

Back when I ran a diesel , Iowa had that soyoil added to diesel at pump to. Had to run it once and will have to say never noticed much difference. And both my newer rigs are flex fuel ready so so what ever is at pump an best price I ll run it , not into saving it for the next guy anyway. Here at home small general store all that is available is true gas and true diesel. So my small engines an old car an truck get it, 60 miles away is refinery country.
Let me sugar coat this

That soy diesel will clean out your fuel system. Sounds good but you go through a lot of filters before it gets the tanks and lines all cleaned out. If your truck or farm machine is fairly new no problem but old stuff with years of build up you need to plan on extra fuel filters. You will need them.

I don't think ethanol can be produced at an economic price without subsidies. Additionally, I don't think the nation can produce enough ethanol to make much difference. I assume we can't put the nations corn production all into ethanol. Corn farmers get a "price support" payment, and then the blender gets an additional subsidy as well.

Never did think it made much sense to turn corn into "fuel" to begin with. There's a surplus of corn. Farmers have got really good at producing 200 bushel corn per acre. (irrigated) Even more in some areas. I see rotten corn on the ground every spring and that shouldn't be happening with people dying of starvation around the world. But, governments use it as a political weapon.

E-10 jumped to $2.19 today. Nonethanol is $2.10. Here, super unleaded is 1.99, unleaded is 2.24. In Wyoming they're not required to list if ethanol is in the fuel. That used to cause me some grief with the older vehicles that liked to vapor-lock. Not so much anymore.

Switch Grass will out produce corn 10 to 1. Plus you can get 2-3 cuttings a year.

We keep a 300 gallon tank at the farm of pure gas. Run it in every small engine we have.
Everything the left touches it destroys
