Maybe no one looked at it before it went into the box...?

Because the 'Freedom Group' made it. Ruger has recently bought the Marlin line, and I expect there will be a great improvement in the product, henceforth.

I wouldn’t own a marlin unless it had the JM stamp. Remington ruined that company

you'd be wise to send that photo to the Pres of the company, so he see's what's going on.

That crooked sight was not an uncommon event when Remington started building them, that and a score of other shortcuts and poor fitting..QC apparently was also short changed in the quest to shave pennies.
Original JM Marlins are fine and they made a lot of them, so no reason to buy a Remlin.

Yep and Yep.

My older JM Marlin 336 is a solidly built weapon with an action as smooth as glass. Remington Marlins (Remlins) aren't even in the same league. Your picture is proof of that.

Eh...wot?

Remington turned all of there stuff to junk before going belly up. I hope with the sell off the quality improves.

I hate to say it but a machinist should be a machinist and the way Remington cheapened up the Marlins they should be ashamed of themselves. Maybe Remington should be belly up and let other companies fix what they screwed up. An apprentice QC person should have easily picked up on that. I went through the USA military cannon factory machinist program back in the middle 80's.

OTDIG QA

Out The Door It Goes Quality Assurance

if they had to stop and look them over it would add dollars to every rifle , Remington ruined Marlin just as they Ruined themselves.

let the dealer find the issue and send the gun back ,they figure shipping on 1 rifle is much less cost than proper QA on 100

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
