Been holding my yearly essence collection now that the border remains closed I have been noticing the 4 oz bottles levels look lower then what I filled them to. While loading up today to put out yote sets I noticed a couple 1 oz bottles wrapped in newspaper I though they might be some change up lure I was going to put out but had forgotten about.

They turned out to be 2 one ounce essence bottles I had electric taped the lids and wrapped in newspaper to send out if needed and forgot about, must of been a few years sitting on that shelf.

A 1oo% seal is hard to obtain unless you can get Teflon sealed jars. Hope things change soon so your money quits evaporating!

Would it be best to dip the tops of the bottles in wax??

Jerry, I found it helps to put some cling wrap over the bottle, then put a light coat of petroleum jelly over the cling wrap, before you screw the lid on. Might give it a try. That was recommended to me by our local skunk man here in Ks!

Going to try the tool grip dip I have 80 oz that several of the bottles need to be topped off it’s going to cost $60-$80 to top them off it’s starting to suck. LOL

Wrap those things covered in saran wrap, petroleum and tape and I can just about imagine the look on some customs officers face when he thinks he's going to get a good bust of LSD or something and the surprise he gets when he opens it. Ha.

I heard that if you store them in the glove compartment of your wife's car they hold a better seal.

Polyseal caps help the most. I found it near impossible to prevent evaporation. I store some volume here for many years. Using plain paper or foil lined caps dont hold well.

That's what i do after every season with LD lures to keep odor down in house

I second the dipping tops in wax....never seen an unopened Makers Mark bottle lose and through evaporation and alcohol surely evaporates quicker than skunk juice :
