So I get this big ole wolfy looking male the other day...
[Linked Image]

And he's OK throughout. Nice long mane, good thick sides, and hurray no mange which is always a win around here.

So later I'm teaching my young, strapping son how to peel coyotes and of course we start with the tough old male dog. We get the tail and back legs worked free and mind you just an overhead gambrel on chain, no mechanical assist (yet). And, i said look just wad up that hide in your right hand, put it tight to your chest, and jump down with your body weight to pull it down a little...like this...

Boom!

Noah just started laughing and he said I cried "mommy" when my shoulder went out of socket and I felt that weird sensation of it clear across my chest and down through my bicep. Shoulder went right back in. Done this before but not with that weird muscle pulling out also sensation. Had to sit down a bit off to side thought I was going to pass out. Felt better after a bit and talked him through rest of it. We used a section of rope tied to hide and stepped on the rope to apply pressure downward to get rest of hide worked off.

Day two, I have mobility, but definitely doesn't feel right under my arm and through my bicep area. Going to get this looked at today at doc. Looks like bruising you would see if hit by something from outside, but this is all internal injury only. Well son, that's what you don't want to do and glad I showed you so you didn't get hurt, ha ha ha. grin
I have also made it clear that this is not an age thing. grin

Later all!
Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Dang, sounds like something that would happen to me. I hope you heal fast and get back to 100% soon. I was bored the other evening and decided to look up your coon bait formula you’ve posted. Mixed a batch up. I couldn’t resist keeping a few ingredients that I use in it, but tried to stay as close as I could to it. Really nice looking bait and good stuff. Thanks

Noah is still laughing about it. Dad, you should always stretch out a little before skinning, OK?
He swears i cried mommy but I don't really remember that. grin

Not a laughing matter Jim. I injured my shoulder a couple years ago and being the stubborn fool I am I waited over a week before getting it checked out. It bled down to my elbow internally, was an impressive mess. My Doc also dragged his heals on diagnoses, appointments with specialists, surgeon etc. IMO. To make a long story short by the time I got to a surgeon it was too late. Complete tear of a rotator cuff muscle, too much retraction and irreparable. I live with a permanent injury, somewhat debilitating, constant discomfort and likely to cause me more grief as I age, apparently. Get on it!

Dammit Jim spend some of that money before it molds and get a skinning machine. Youre not getting any younger my friend.

Man.... better ck that one out Jim. Had a buddy tore a bicep muscle and kinda looked like that. Hope it isn't some torn meat somewhere. On the age issue I am sure the number of candles on your B day cake ( more and more each year) probably had only about a 60/40% chance of having anything to do with being not quite the superman you were 20 years ago !! I glad you got some iron out. I was going set T Day week end..... but got the co vid and having a hard time shaking it.
