Awesome looking cat! I don’t look forward to the day I have to release one. There are some in my area but I’ve been lucky enough not to catch one.

How does one go about releasing one of those things? Does it take more than one person?

I figured out how to do it by myself with ditch tigers and raccoons. But I don't think I could manage releasing a bobcat by myself.

Front foot. We actually did a modified version of what I have seen on YouTube. Since I had help on this one I got him with a catch pole then my brother threw a tote over him. I released the catch pole and then pulled his foot out from under the tote and took the trap off.

Assuming a front foot catch, get the catch pole around the neck. Stretch the cat out with the catch pole, pin both back feet with one of your feet and the uncaught front with your other. Keep tension on the pole by sticking the end in your waist. Release the caught foot and grab the pole. Release tension on the catch pole. Not saying that is the best way but it worked for me.

Hope you get a season soon! I can't believe that in many areas of southern IN there are not some healthy populations of cats.

We do have a health population of cats in the south west third or so of the state. Not to say the rest of the state doesn't have a number of cats.

I like the plywood shield method but tote works a lil better for back foot catches.
Only yearlings get released since we got no limit on em.
