Never heard of it until this. I'm always dealing with complex angles and jogs in my cabin construction and I can put this to use. Thanks for sharing that.

Never heard it called it a tickling stick but it sounds like the stick pushed up inside a hollow tree and twisted to wrap the fur of a rabbit and pull him out.

Ever use a pace stick with a lanyard with beads on it to measure the distance you walked. Works great for using a compass and map for navigating in different terrains, I goes back to biblical days. never will totally depend on GPS or any electronics. New naval navigators and flyers are now all being taught to navigate the old ways as GPS can be scrambled and satellites shot down.
