I've had 2 bulging disc in my lower back for 22 years now. But after I shot my buck this year and trying to drag it & load it by myself I threw my back out really bad. It was affecting my sciatic never all the way down my leg to my right foot. I went and had 2 steroid shots put in my back which took 2 day before they kicked in and I felt any relief, then I threw it out again just doing normal stuff in life.

So I decided to go to a chiropractor to try and get adjusted. The chiropractor ended up knocking all the wind out of me and breaking 1 of my rib's. Now it just hurts to breath and is so painful to try and lay down in bed. I'm off work for 2 weeks and hoping that I can be up and running at least at 70% then. It's killing me not being able to go set traps, I have 5 new properties that I acquired this year for trapping and here I sit.

If the chiropractor broke your rib then I would say he owes you for more time off, pain and suffering, and your hospital bills caused from that. You need to talk to a attorney Bud.

Sorry to hear about the negative chiropractor visit. Maybe a rolfer could help.

I agree with niteprowler, the chiropractor might owe you some compensation. He doesn't sound very professional to me.
Back issues are both joint and muscle related. If your muscles are too tight the chiropractor can't do much. It sounds like you were too tight and he tried to hard.
Do you do any regular stretching at all? Can you touch your toes? I find that if I start having back pain and start by stretching the muscles first, it usually eliminates the need for chiropractor or anything else. Keeping your muscles limber also does a lot to prevent back injury.

Look into rolfing like run said. I know several people who swear it changed their life.

Rolfers are worth their weight in gold. Good ones have experience in all avenues of bones, tendon readjustments, nerve centers which also control pain and energy ports , acupressure points , and layers of muscle groups. Sort of a combination of many good subjects all considered into one. Since their forte in subjects can vary according to the individual, some research in choosing would be in order.

It's my 4 lower disc's that are bulging so trying to touch my toes would put my down & out for a day or two for sure. But I would check into rolfing.

You need a new chiropractor. I have put off multi level fusions thanks to a chiropractor. One I use ask before he bends. LOL If certain levels are raw he hits them mildly and concentrates above and below them to give relief.

Hot tub . Best money you can spend if you have back trouble. I put mine in a detatched garage with heat and air. I use it year round.

Sorry to hear about your back pain, I have never had to use a back snapper. Good luck.

If a chiropractor broke one of your ribs he should be writ up or somthing... iv used a chiropractor 3 times after a bad fall at work and it did nothing. Plumbers in lab coats. I sleep on a hardwood floor to keep my spine straight but don't know if that would help bulged disc's.

My experience with a Rolfer was completely different. Years ago I was having horrible pain in my legs and hips. My doctor had told me I was a bit overweight and if I lost weight I would feel better. Now I do not have a Phd but I knew I was overweight, and knew I would feel better if I was skinnier.

I went to a chiropractor for a while (Had gone two three times a month for years before my back finally got too bad) and it did not relieve the pain. Someone that obviously hated me gave me a name. I have had a bad back for years and the bone crunchers kept me able to work. Probably long term not a great idea but I did not know what else to do.

My insurance did not cover alternative medical care and it was a $100.00 a visit.
I toughed out about four visits, only because I was desperate. The leg pain was horrible enough that it was really difficult to sleep.

That Rolfing hurt like nothing I have ever experienced. She was a big old gal and she was strong. As far as I could ascertain from her explanation and how the treatment felt, she would muckle onto a muscle and surrounding tissue, ligaments and walk into the next room. At least that is how it felt. My eyes were clenched tight attempting to hold the tears back as I tried hard not to scream like a schoolgirl. So admittedly I never see her leave the room, but she must have. Mother humping leap lizards, that was not the least bit fun or helpful. And if I have not been clear, it hurt bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In recent years I have worked with a Ayurvedic bone setter when I have needed an adjustment. He does a lot of pressure point work along with manipulation and I have pretty good results with him. These guys are alternative and probably hard to find in a lot of areas.
Takes a lot of effort to keep old guys going. LOL

Mac, a good rolfer has to address deep tissue/ tendon issues , and yes it can hurt. They quite literally move a dislocated tendon back over the bone , up over ridge centers to drop it into the proper groove. All the time holding back ALL the isolated muscle layers with the other hand . They are amazing in their knowledge of anatomy and how those nerve centers and moving parts work smoothly over bones. The more serious the injury, often the more it has to be felt.

I have a neurological disorder that effects my neck, I have tried pretty much everything, Botox injections, physical therapy, muscle relaxers, trigger point injections, spinal injections, and yes chiropractors, in my opinion they are a complete joke, at least in my experience. A few pops and cracks then , “well if you want 60 percent more relief we need to set up a treatment plan 2x a week for the next 4 months, please pay the 75 dollars on your way out and we will see you on Thursday” bunch of crap.

I was looking for the closest rolfers on the internet and closest one is 2 hours away from where I live. I really don't know if I want to drive that far. I still debating on it though.
