I remember the day he was shot quite vividly. I was never a fan but you don't wish that on anyone.

Lyrics that inspired a generation of "All you need is love."

Flipping the original songwriter's words of; "It is more blessed to give than to receive," around.

I'll stick with the original songwriter's direction, but the Beatles did build a legacy, that's for sure.
Most are still looking for it.

Blessings,
Mark

“Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That's what's insane about it.” -- John Lennon

A copy and paste from internet

Lennon knew too much. He was a forerunner of the Great Awakening

He was severely jeopardizing newly elected and life long CIA agent George Herbert Walker Bush's plans.

The Plan: demoralize America by killing Lennon. Ascend to the Oval Office 3 months later by killing Reagan

I've often thought his mocking God might have lead to an early demise. I'll prepare myself for the incoming.

I have a great deal of respect for what the Beatles accomplished. I think most of their success was due to Ringo Starr's drumming. But regardless, that band sure put out some good music. John Lennon, personally, however, I find to be extremely creepy, weird, and freakish. He gives me the creeps. That guy had some whacked out ideas. He's not for me - not really a guy I admired or respected on a personal level.

And, I never heard a John Lennon solo song that I thought was worth a darn. I think McCartney's solo stuff is pretty lame, too. Not to mention McCartney is a screwy animal rights nutjob.

Sad what happened to him, though. I guess.

Bound by everlasting bands?
None shall take thee

Ringo would be the one I would want to hang out with.
Musically,(creative)Harrison was the most Talented in my opinion.

I always thought Harrison was out there further than the rest. Here is a song he wrote

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Yeah, I wouldn't wish ill on anyone but always thought they were the most over rated musicians in history. Right place, time and gimmick.

Yep..I really never did quite understand why the United States Government was so fearful and paranoid of one man and his music and political thinking.

Yep..I don't think in the beginning the "Fab 4" was into any religion..then they were introduced to a belief and brainwashing..I think that's why it shows up in Danny's post..thus changing their music style..FWIW

Well, all of them together didn't have the talent of any one of the Rolling Stones. Now there's a ROCK band that can and did jam on just about anything in 4/4 time - rock, country, blues, gospel, reggae. The more I listen to them, the more I like them. And, they've never gotten all freaky and preachy on stuff - that I've heard. Just the standard sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll for them. And, they've done it harder, better, and longer than anybody out there.

Interesting history on how he acquired it. I guess the OPP was responsible for their security when they did concerts in Canada in the 60s.

More of a Kim Mitchell fan, back in the day.
