BraskaYoter , you used to be able to put knives in your checked baggage , I Think you still can. been a while but when I flew to FL that is what I did and just brought a folder , Disney checks the ladies purses but not your pocket [/quote]

You can but we did not check any bags, each had a carry on and one personal item ( backpack ). Couldn’t sell the wife on paying for a checked bag just to bring my knife. It worked out though, I made sure I drank the savings she kept me from spending lol.

I think it was 225.00....and it’s called a Nessmuc Knife...you can google his web site and go shopping. Great camp knife too....can split kindling wood with it....just hit the top of the blade with a log...it’s 1/4 thick at the spine.

Leatherman wave on my belt, Swiss Army in right front pocket, WWII GI infantry knife in my flight bag,
Nessy, that's a beautiful knife. Looks like it compliments your flintlock.

I carry a pocket knife always. I use it often and have when it gets forgotten.

Wish I had more time to trap....

A man belongs to have a knife in his pocket at all times, even if it is small. I admit mine is usually my Leatherman. The photo is self-explanatory. [Linked Image] Claude was my Grandpappy.

sounds like one of those times I would drop past a store and buy an inexpensive knife often something usable can be had for under 15 dollars.

we don't fly much once a decade but I have been wondering how much fishing stuff I could get in a carry on , I generally only need a fishing kit about the size of most peoples shave kit , and I don't shave. a toothbrush and toothpaste is all I need put that in a ziplock bag in a jacket pocket and good to go.

if I brought a reel and bought a 20 dollar pole when I picked up my license and a basic fillet knife or pocket knife at the end of the trip find some kid fishing on a pier and give him/her the pole before flying home.

some people can sit on a beach , I find it best when I stand in the water to my knees and hold a fishing pole.

tsa says small fishing tackle is ok just no Big hooks https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/small-fishing-lures#:~:text=Sharp%20fishing%20tackle%20that%20may,in%20your%20carry%2Don%20baggage.

These are my every day work knives, kept in my tool box. Sawzall blades, ground and sharpened with sandpaper, plexiglass handles held together with window rivets and shaped with a wire wheel. They get the job done, and we're free.

those remind me of the shives my 16 year old daughters makes exacto knife blade sandwiched between two wooden craft sticks

I taught her to use epoxy for her crafts

she broke the exacto blade holder at some point , didn't tell me and she just took some craft sticks and epoxied the blade between when they get dull she makes another.
