When I was back home I saw a muskrat house on a golf course pond? Any luck in getting permission on one?

Some...gotta watch the ponds as theyre often full of years of goose crap that you can barely walk on.

Yep
Just ask the course manager
Pinehurst paid well to remove beavers too.

It’s like asking out chicks....if you don’t ask, the answer is already no.
So wutcha got to lose?

Yes. It helps to know the owner. Many golf courses don't want foot traffic during the wet/snow months. It tears up the fairways and God forbid you walk across a green. ATV's on a golf course around here almost impossible.

As far as the muskrats, unless there's something other than grass around the ponds/creeks the fur doesn't tend to be very good.

Always got a cart or the Deere Mule. Trapped nutria in Oregon, and moles and gophers in summer time. It was a job, it paid well.

Always had access to military golf courses where the wife was stationed. Caught a lot of fox back in the day to on Air Force bases. Even had an Admiral that loved to run a ratline by canoe with, he trapped as a kid. That was always a good time.....

Lol. It would be fun to keep a score card. Start out with Par...every muskrat is a Birdie, a mink is an Eagle. A snapped trap is a penalty stroke

Like others have mentioned, I was supplied with a cart. They paid well. I did most of the work early before the golfers arrived. All the golfers that ever saw me thought I was doing them a favor and loved what I was doing.

I trap two local golf courses. Luckily for me the golf season is over when I start trapping in November here in NNY. I have caught Mink, Muskrat, Racoon, Beaver and Fisher. The one golf course has a very secluded long and wide extended fairway surrounded by heavy woods on one section also that I have called in and killed multiple coyotes on during January and February. If I remember correctly, I caught 9 beavers on the two ponds at the first course I began trapping 3-4 years ago.

As stated before, follow any rules they have, be respectful and leave it as good as you found it if not better. Best of Luck!!

Oh, I almost forgot you should pick up any golf balls you find in the woods, water etc... and clean them up to resell them anyone you know that golfs. Sometimes the course will even buy them from you. The used golf ball business is a good one!

Leave the water balls alone though. If they've been in there any length of time they have no value outside if driving range shag balls.

I golf, I trap. Yes, most of the courses around me begging for trappers. Ponds full of rats, wooded areas full of coon, coyotes running wild. I do what I can. If you want to get your foot in the door tell them you remove lots of skunks. They tear the greens up pretty bad digging for grubs.

All the ground managers just give the summer high school students they hire a .22 and tell them to shoot the muskrats and beavers in the morning before the course opens. My cousins said it was the best job they had. Shoot for an hour in the morning, cut grass till 2 in the afternoon and then play a round of golf and go home.
