The boys I am helping trap ( from my recliner) are loving trapping and had there best morning this am with 2 coons and a muskrat. I am going to let them keep the traps I have loaned them ( except my 330 victors). They are really into it often still setting and moving traps in the dark after school. I do go out to my shed that I am letting them use to skin to give help with the skinning. Also letting them put the coons in one of my empty freezers. The one night I was not up to help skin they ripped a coon in half. Lol. Told them it was a good lesson and better to learn on a 2 dollar (or less) coon than a 20 dollar one9if they ever get back to that level.

I can only imagine they feel fortunate to have you and that this is a welcome distraction while you are on the DL

That's awesome. I salute you sir for bringing in some new blood and heading them in the right direction. The future of our traditions are going to be in their hands one day

Well done Joe. Next be teaching them the pumpkin trade.

More money in it Pete. . Miss the old days of trapping but these boys are filling a void. Probably only doing the pumpkins one more year. If you think trapping takes a toll on your body try 7 acres of pumpkins in a basically one man operation. Had back surgery, one knee just replaced, other knee gets done next year and then I’ll start on hips. Riding with these boys may be the closest I get to trapping for a while. Want you to know I have caught three possums under the bird feeders on the patio. Haven’t lost my touch.

I was wondering what kind of fiasco this was, got them trapping coons instead of the coveted silver fox of the garbage dump, lol. I found my old pro possum tee shirt in the closet the other day and been wearing it around, had a lady in the grocery store line behind me tell me if i liked trapping those i could come to her house as they were getting in her garbage can every night and making a mess, hahaha
My body is on the wore out path as well, hope they get you all new bionic parts soon so you can leap shallow ditch's again in a single bound.
Not my circus, not my clowns.
