What's your opinion on this guns current worth??

Its a Marlin 1895, approximately 35 years old and doesn't have any flaws. Looks cherry.

I've been out of the gun buying game for 25years or so, been building my own. The current prices astound me of production guns.

I paid a tad over 200, tax included for it. Amazing

absolutely not they were selling for 1000-1250 a month ago on gun broker plus shipping and transfer fee figure that adds about 70 dollars so guns were selling for around 1070 -1325 a month a go on gun broker if you add fees

today a remlin in ss is selling for 1050 at cabelas

a private sale of a perfectly clean gun without any shipping or transfer 1600 if your not in a hurry to part with it

this is a 2007 version of the gun you have it went for 1600.01 with 35 dollars shipping and a transfer fee https://www.gunbroker.com/item/882466774

remember there are NO more JM marked guns and never will be

it has been years already since there were new old stock is going to be extremely thin guns everywhere are unobtanium and money just isn't worth as much as it was.

if you wanted to give him a deal 1300 in mid Dec 2020 would be very fair

but I think it could bring 1600

That is a $900.00 rifle at this time. I was just in a large gun shop in my area that gets lots of traffic all day long. They have that exact model and caliber for $875.00 including two boxes of ammo. There are people paying stupid money on GunBroker. But that is on a national market. If you are selling this to someone local, even $900.00 is a bit high.

forget everything you knew about gun sales form 2018 or even 2019 , the market has changed that much in 2020

the Mosin Nagant rifles you could buy for 150 dollars 10 years ago are selling for 400 now

in mid November I went to get my son a bolt action deer rifle in 308 from my local dealer I said what can we order he's not in a rush he has a gun for this dear season , he said Pete what does not in a rush mean , I think I might be able to order a gun again but late 2021
the distributors are even out of deer rifles what is here is what you can get for a while

well we found my son a 308 rifle , new old stock on his racks and was glad to see the 4 year old price tag still on it with that price

used guns that were selling for 279 in 2019 were selling for 379 in spring of 2020

if you look at what is in stock there are a few Italian import lever guns 1200-1800

there are basically no other lever guns available

we thought it was nuts in early November to watch a Marlin 336 30-30 in ok shape go for 800 dollars

look at this one the seller paid just shy of 1K for a 336 in 30-30 not even the texan or a centential https://www.gunbroker.com/item/886262697

Gunbroker is very misleading sometimes. The guy willing to visit a couple gun shops can often find a gun much less than on GB. GB is good for those hard to find guns but for the common ones I'll buy local.

That said. $700-1200+ depending where you sell it.

You cannot use GunBroker as an actual price guide! That would be like using Barret Jackson's prices to sell your muscle car to the local buyers. Locally, you do not have the flood of qualified buyers. Plus, GunBroker charges commission and you will have to go through an FFL dealer. And there is always the possibility of getting scammed from someone across the country.

I thank you all for your replies and knowledge. I'm not sure what I'll do, I'll think on it.
