I say social media exacerbates the problem.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Thanks y'all. Very, very much.
These situations just have no rhyme or reason it seems.
Dillon's dad >>>> the head guy at one of the Army bases here in charge in mental health, specially training in PTSD, depression, and anxiety disorders. Mom a nurse. Cody's dad >>>> super neat man who drives truck. Mom a teacher. Maddie's dad >>>> owns a construction biz. Mom is Christian education coordinator at her church.
People doing what they're supposed to do, raising up kids in a two parent homes, paying taxes and living life. But too many teen agers among us have no hope for some reason, as young adulthood appears on their horizon. There are many theories and every person is unique but go that extra mile perhaps to talk like you've never talked before with those you want to keep around longer. Especially if they are about these young people's age. It's the silent epidemic among us.
Blessings, Mark

Sad deal, the family structure taught kids how to deal with conflict in the past some of that has been lost in today’s busy world. Godspeed young lady.

That's the puzzle in it all, isn't the dark kids with one parent homes or abusive homes doing this. Long ago my niece had a friend come home from school, dad asked how his day was and in typical teen fashion said ok and went to his room, like he had done a million times before, made good grades, had friends, no issue's, never said a word that anything was bothering him but went to his room pulled out a gun and blew his head off! He was 14 years old! Same age as my niece was at the time and she's now 42 with two kids of her own.
It's always happened just not at the pace it seems to be now days, i agree something changed and it's not hard too look around and figure out what changed since we were teens. The world has gone mad.

Many thoughts, many speculations. Maybe sometimes its God calling another angel home.

the second week of the covid shut down , one of my sons friends , the kid who had gotten him his job , they worked together . went to school together .
the young man jumped from a grain bin we can see from our house ending his life. at that point there were not really funerals happening they had a small memorial service only 10 people could be in the funeral home at a time.
there was so little communication it was hard to even confirm it had happened. we finally got a hold of a friend that works at the school and was able to confirm it about 12 hours after he had been found.
I don't understand it and it happens much to often.
remember to tell your kids they can come to you about anything and you will help them find a way. these kids parents may have said that or not , but it can't hurt to let them know you can help no matter what it is they can tell you.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I thought very deeply today about words I heard about 3 months ago from one of the profs here, a man who has ministered and walked with people around the world since 1962. 36 countries in that time. Every continent.
He said in class one day, with a somber face, as another student got up the courage to tell of their sibling, who lived in Missouri, committing suicide the previous week, that being all over the world, with all sorts of people, that everywhere has unique victories and trials. But in his 58 years of meeting all sorts, in his opinion we are the most rich by every measure, no question. But he said sadly, we have sacrificed our souls and our family's souls for the things that are fleeting, and our young adults and teenagers, better than our old, have a tender heart for seeing exactly that. He said we get so crusty, many of us as we grow old, that it and it alone keeps us upright. The young heart does not care for that lifestyle more and more in America.
And then he got quite real and looked at the class, all tribes, all tongues (we have 60 nations on campus) and said; It's not them. They're gone. It's us. It's always been us.
I need to continue to think deeply and pray more often about that teaching.
