Recently the game commission (in a narrow split decision) voted to not allow a petition for banning beaver trapping on public lands in Oregon. Now the commissioners who voted to follow ODFW staff recommendations to deny the petition are being personally harassed by the antis. Check out these postcards they received:

There was a recent op-ed in the Oregon Statesman Journal by the Center for Biological Diversity accusing these commissioners of not following science. Boy howdy, talk about the pot calling the kettle black! With absolutely no empirical data that trapping negatively affects the beaver population in key coho salmon spawning areas ....they claim it to be so. Little to no beaver trapping is taking place in later years in these areas.
If there are no beaver there it is because of no suitable habitat. They do not seem to understand that mature douglas fir forest in the riparian zones does not support a beaver population. Back in the 40's and 50's when streams were logged over we had great numbers of beavers in these areas. Forestry practices act of 1971 changed the logging practices.

At the hearings they had testimony from 'scientists' who favor the notion of "hands-off" wildlife management. These 'scientists' do not believe any human manipulation of wildlife should ever occur. But seem to be clueless about why beaver numbers are low in our coast range nowadays.
Has to be those bad trappers!

As far as I'm concerned the leftists can deal with their own mess. There's going to be a ton of gun owners and outdoorsfolk crying in their beer over the next four years and many will have voted for it. X2

Why are you concerned about leaving a single individual out to dry when it affects every trapper in this wretched state??? Perhaps what Warrior is saying is that you get what you vote for. And maybe he sees no reason to spend time, effort, and money on anyone who repeatedly votes for the people who keep trying to kill trapping.I Mike

Why are you concerned about leaving a single individual out to dry when it affects every trapper in this wretched state??? I learned how thats dealt with back in '87 after Drill Sergeant Glover dropped the whole platoon a few times. Those sorts of problems get cleared up quick like.

So, am I a problem that needs to be dealt with since I don't subscribe to the official Trapperman pro-Trump stance? Got news for you bucko...you don't necessarily need to be a liberal, leftist or progressive to have no use for that despicable human being.
