I have several 700s but usually hunt with three. I installed a Triggertech trigger in my 7mm-08 and have been happy, but I was not unhappy with the tuned stock trigger. Both were 2lb 10oz. Thinking of treating a 270 and 280 to upgrades so I am asking which brand of trigger you prefer. I have a Jewell on a Mod 70 Win I use for elk trips but don’t want to spend that much on these whitetail rifles unless there is a big advantage. The 280 is in a 700 Mountain rifle laminated stock, with a thin barrel. It will only shoot 1.5 MOA on a good day. The 270 is a plain vanilla ADL in a Boyd’s. Shoots very well with Sierra 140 gr. and most 130s.
What are your experiences and recommendations? All hunting is from elevated stands, mostly over fields.

I put a timney in my model 700 22-250 before I ever shot it. Dry firing the trigger was awful. So I bought the timney. That was more than twenty years ago. Lots and lots of pickup miles too. Killed a lot of coyotes over the years. A few deer, other stuff too. trigger is still just as crisp, no creep, as the day I put it in and adjusted it.

Thanks Danny. I noticed Timney and Triggertech have 10% discounts for retired military. Each company has several triggers and a $100 different in prices. Are the high dollar models worth the price for a hunting trigger. I noticed one model only went up to 32oz. That might be too light, especially with gloves. Well worth the money.Mine is set at 1 pound

Timney Trigger Tech, or Rifle Basix would all fill the bill, but the Jewell or Geiselle Super 700 are a step above both in performance at a higher price. The Geiselle super 700 was my last trigger purchase. They were hard to come by for awhile and I am not sure if they have became any easier to obtain.

I put a Timney Target trigger on my Rem model 700 in 7mm STW. It is set at 16oz and made a huge difference in my shooting ability. Mine to.
