A tablet for feild notes. Clipboard in the shed to write it all down in detail.
But the best for me is Google earth maps. Print each property out and Mark trap location on the map.
Batteries never go dead with a map
Just sayin

We are seeing sign but not catching much. The snow really screwed things up. The good news is I can find all my sets with the help of onx and my notes. My partner who said he didnt need GPS or notes has 2 he cant find now. Now if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go train my brain.

If you are good enough..... no flags, no maps, no notebooks no gps. Every trap has a big ol coyote or cat in it bouncing around hard to miss that even in the snow? Riiiiiiight lmao. I could literally set anywhere I wanted in three hundred square mile area.
Garmin Oregon 600 with Onyx hunt maps for me. Mark a waypoint x# of sets then abbreviations for type of sets ie; dh, f, p, b, or c. Takes literally seconds. If the bush is thick or trees to thick I’ll use off color survey ribbon
Off color because there are miles of blue and red and pink and white ribbon already out there from timber sales
Or someone flagging their way out from killing an elk or flagging their way in so they don’t get lost at the end of the day. So much flagging every where no one pays any mind to it. Barber pole or chartreuse are my favorites.

When trapping rats in ditches I use those flags on wire people mark where they are gonna put sprinkler in. Low to the ground and if I didn’t mark them I’d never find them it all looks the same.
