Bob I don't have But 40000 rds And I don't have a basement. But I did see this coming And I know have plenty of ammo when most people have none ! LoL! With Joe Biden likely taking office soon, would you be willing to invest millions of dollars into creating a product that could become outlawed with the swipe of a pen?

Guess you just have to be there at the right time and have a store owner like my nephew ran into.
He stopped at some store about a month ago and they were starting to unbox 9 mm ammo.
He asked the guy how much can he buy? He said all you want. My nephew said just put all of it in my truck I think he got over 50 boxes of 9 mm ammo.
NOW That is why we can't get any ! Hoarders !

If I see this correctly. One company now owns 4 prior ammo manufacturing companies, and moved all production under one roof? Effectively you cut possible production capabilities tremendously. Excellent PR move. As the owner you obviously ride the premium demands and would be crazy to reduce profits on purpose. Highlight one of the many non controllable factors , and ride the last few waves.
Consumption will drop quickly after the taxes. Why invest in new construction.
Just offering one of the many possibilities for the prolonged shortages.

He can say there's no conspiracy (at least on his end) and he's basically telling the truth. But...
If you have a contract with the government to produce ammo for them, they get first priority. So if there is a bottleneck in supply chains and you are only getting so much in raw materials then it's a safe bet that Uncle Sam is getting a good chunk of the ammo you produce. If you need 100 tons of brass to fill orders and you're only getting 60 tons and the government orders require 50 tons... Guess which market gets shorted.
Not a conspiracy just math.
Now if you want to say that certain folks in government realized they could use Covid to choke supply chains to the point that commercial manufacturers are left with just enough to fill government orders and choke the civilian market... I'd have to say not much would surprise me at this point.

There's a pawn shop I've been driving past that has a "9MM ammo here" sign on the sidewalk. I haven't even stopped to ask as I reckon it's way overpriced. Going to a gun show today but I'm not holding my breath for any deals.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Last big shortage was in the retail stores. Gun shows had everything you wanted. At double the price! LOL. They were the guys that knew when deliveries were at stores and waited first in line at every store they knew every week. Then sold it back to you for their own profit. Lot of good old American greed in a capitalistic society.

If you guys came up short after the last shortage not so long ago who’s fault is it really. LOL 100% correct! Even during the last shortage I was ok, not comfortable. Now I am comfortable but concerned. I can see this has become a new hobby to many I know, piling up ammo taking pictures, posting, bragging and trolling guys that cannot find ammo. I am guilty of only buying 2 calibers in quantity, for weapons I do not own....yet, .357 and .22 mag along with some .38 I am told I can use in the .357.
you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

I’m just looking for actual hunting bullets. Didn’t know we’d be ok’ed for a doe removal project. FMJ’s and LAP aren’t exactly legal for hunting. Plenty of 12 and 20ga shot shells, .223, .243, .308, .38 and .45 ammo. Just need hunting bullets, lol. Killing does? It don't have to be a special recipe for that. I can think of several common weapon/ammo combinations I already have that would do that. Not including Cross Bow or Muzzle loader. I have seen jacket tips filed off FMJ to expose lead. I hunted squirrels with round point solid .22 with a flattened tip, have a jig for that somewhere. Doe removal project sounds fun!
