Does anyone manufacturer a thermostat that is bluetooth? My thermostat is at the top of my stairway from the basement. Our woodstove is in the basement. If i leave the basement door open to let the heat come up the stairway, that heat hits the thermostat that is right at the top of the stairs. Back half of the house aleays stays warmer the front. My question is can i put a reciever where the thermostat is and put a new thermostat else where to talk to the receiver?? I want my heat pump to be controlled from a diffenernt place in the house without having to run new wiring. I hope this makes sense???

Those are hard wired sensors.

Those are hard wired sensors. Moving your thermostat or a sensor in another part of the house will cause the area that the wood stove is heating to over heat when the heat pump is on. I would run a return duct over to the wood stove and add a second thermostat that would just turn on the airhandler fan and set that 3 degrees higher than the heat pump thermostat. So when the wood stove won't heat the house the temperature will drop and the heat pump will take over. Or if your thermostat is a 2 stage thermostat wire it to turn on the fan as first stage and heat pump as second stage but you still need to run the return duct over the wood stove to pull te hot air from the stove into the duct system.

I actualy had two returns added in the basement last week. One being right over the stove. I am going to assume that a two stage stat can just be added where my present thermostat is now? Thanks for the reply.

Yes it can as long as you have enough wires in your T-Stat wire.
