This is a funny anti trapping bill. So most of you know wildlife is managed by the state except for things list under the corrupt endangered species act. This includes methods of take. So they made this bill with a definition to RESTRICT the use of steel leghold traps in the United States. Well you read through the bill and I guess they figured since they can’t get a nation wide ban on trapping, they would try to get a nation wide ban of the sale, manufacturing, and importation of legholds traps. They do mention “carry” but only in means of interstate commerce.

My guess is it doesn’t get voted on and dies.

Leftists are feeling their oats.

More is coming especially if the dems take the Senate.

Even if they take the senate, I don’t think this bill will make any headway. They got so much stuff on the table right now that even if it was a worthy bill, they wouldn’t waste time with a bill that bans the sale of traps. The antis know the feds can’t ban trapping since it’s a state right but I still find it very entertaining that they thing they can ban the sale of traps. There are more than a few democrats that I can think of who wouldn’t waste time on this.

this will ban most trapping even the city of Madison recognizes the need for trapping to maintain waterways and hires trappers to trap in Madison.

we use the same tools to trap animals as the researchers do that collar coyotes and let them go , so these traps are not harmful or inhumane.

I will come to you office and stick my hand in a foot hold trap to show you they are not damaging

Lastly, in the 115th Congress I was a co-sponsor to H.R. 2790, the Humane Cosmetics Act, which prohibits testing cosmetics on animals and the sale or transport of cosmetics that use animal testing at any point in the manufacturing process.

We must do more to ensure the humane treatment of animals, both in captivity and in the wild. I will be sure to support any related legislation seeking to ensure the support and safety of animals.

I don't see anything humorous about this.I don't care how ridiculous this looks from our point of view,there's nothing to stop legislation like this from passing except us.And there's a whole lot more of "them"than there are of "us".

Garry-

I emailed my congressman last week and got a positive reply. Our folks are very sportsmen and women leaning.

Even if the chances are low for having it heard in committee we need to be proactive and let our representatives know that there is a groundswell of opposition from sportsmen and women countrywide.

They will continue to be creative in getting what they want and we need to be vigilant.
