Gotta get me a a chest freezer.
All I've got is three uprights which don't lend themselves to freezing big beaver folded in half & flat.
They don't fit without folding the heads & tails over somewhat.
Big beaver also take up a lot of space that way too.
Wonder what the premium is in addition to the $6.00 top price for green beaver is ?
Interesting.

You can thank me later for getting groney Interested In this type of beaver put up.
I hope they aren't paying that fur processor much, he sure doesn't know what he's doing. Get him a hooked bladed box cutter and that beaver would have been opened up In about 2 seconds.

Why should we thank you ? That put-up sounds like a pain in the arse. We're happy doing it the old fashioned way, thank you very much. w

It's not all that hard. And If a better market for beaver can be established It's a win for the beaver trapper. I case skinned a few the other day and It was pretty fast and he doesn't even what them fleshed. And It's the perfect way to hang them by the nose to thaw them.

Great post thanks for sharing, wish I would have known he was in Verona, I would have gave him a try. Please post or I suppose I can check their website if he makes a run in February. Gary e-mailed me today and said they would make a NYS run in February if he got enough beaver lined up. w

I dorsal cut a few already this season and I gotta say..... That first cut was hard to make after so many years doing it a certain way . It seems wrong, but if it changes the market then I'm all for it

Hey I cannot get the audio, what did Greg G have to say?? He has an order for 2000 dorsal cut beaver. But is wanting winter or ( under ice beaver ) from Minn , Mich, Wisc, NY. Premium beaver. Also he prefers any other beaver to be frozen longways so he can hang them

The part of dorsal skinning that would be hard for me.... would be to stare down after that opening cut and go: "Who da heck stole my castor"!
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
