I am in southeast Alabama. The "Christmas Star", a close passing of Saturn and Jupiter is visible to me about 30 degrees above the southwest horizon. To me, with the naked eye, it appears as a large single light, with 8 power binoculars I can definitely distinguish two separate planets.

If you look with binoculars you can definitely see two planets.

Checked it out with my binos. Wish I had a cheap telescope to view it. Supposed to be able to see a couple of Jupiters moons and Saturns rings at the same time.

Too much cloud cover in southeastern PA. There's a clipper system moving across the state and it will block tonight's conjunction of planets.
Eh...wot?

If you have a spotting scope you can try to see the moons. At least this summer when they were close we could see the rings on saturn and 3 moons.
They will be there and close together for the next couple weeks.
