The "Christmas Star", a close passing of Saturn and Jupiter is visible to me about 30 degrees above the southwest horizon. To me, with the naked eye, it appears as a large single light, with 8 power binoculars I can definitely distinguish two separate planets. Note to self- Engage brain before opening mouth (or hitting the ENTER key/SUBMIT button). Ron Fry

If you look with binoculars you can definitely see two planets.

Put this app on your phone and open it then point it to the sky. You will find it easy . Then you can go in circle and see entire universe Sky View Lite worth it and its free....
