I decided to pick up two belisle traps a 220 and a 280. We put them out, our first catch was a muskrat in a 280. It flat-out broke it's spine and tail. That animal didn't move an inch. Second catch was a Nutria in a 220 that animal didn't even flinch. The Belisle traps are crazy powerful they have freakish strength.

Let what you're witnessing be a lesson on how you handle those.

Im a member of the Belisle 280 club. Knuckles of my right hand still hurts when a cold front is approaching.

Thats why I carry the self locking setters ^^^

My two cents is that a Duke 330 and a Belisle 330 cause the same amount of pain and both require about six months for the numbness to go away.

The very tight fitting jaws on the belisle sure make them powerful. Not so sure it's the springs themselves. Maybe a combo of the two. But yes, they are impressive.

Belisle Super X is the only trap I owned that held beaver by the tail or by the foot. Most powerful springs I've ever seen and I love the safeties on them too.

My favorite feature of a Belisle is the safety. Great feature especially if you like setting with your trigger on the bottom which I do most of the time.

I do this every year just to keep my calluses in good shape.

I hope you're left handed. Cause you aren't going to be using that right hand for much in the near future.
If that happened to me, I'd be checking my skivvies for more than skid marks! wink

Seems like at least once a year I get in a hurry and get complacent . And end up wearing a belisle 220 . Takes a while to get rid of the soreness . Absolutey sucks
