I don't know why, maybe it's the Christmas season or Rags post but this story came to mind this morning. A few years ago I was coming home from an outage out of state. It had been a pretty harsh winter. I think it was one of those "Vortex" winters we had awhile back. Anyway, my driveway is 200 yards long down a fairly steep hill. My neighbor had been plowing it with his tractor while I was gone to keep it clear. With that and traffic, it has about 3" of shiny ice on it with about 3 foot berms on each side. I edged down the driveway and started the slide in the truck. ABS thumping away until I was about half way down, hit a small lull in the hill and stopped. I inched forward and the same thing happened until I was to the bottom. The average person would say that the driveway needed a good salting. Being above average, grin I rushed into the house and told the wife I was running out to wally world. "You just got here, what do you need at wally world?" I said, "Did you see all that ice on the driveway? It looks like a bobsled track, I'm going to buy a runner sled!" She looked at me with either amazement or disgust, I'm not sure which. maybe both? She then said, "You're a 50 year old man! You don't need no #@$%$# runner sled! You're going to get hurt!" Yup, she dashed all of my dreams in an instant. Figured I could hit at least 35 or 40 MPH flying down that driveway and even had thoughts of plowing in a jump at the end. So the moral of this story is, don't tell your wife anything! They will only ruin your fun! Incidentally, every time we are at a store, flea market, garage sale or whatever and I spy a runner sled, she grabs me by the shirt and drags me the other way. frown WOMEN!

Reminds me of the guy who got stopped by the cops who told him, "Anything you say, can and will be held against you."
The guy replied, "I know, I'm married."

Sounds like my wife whose intuition is so highly developed she sometimes knows I'm wrong before I've even opened my mouth!

Ever notice all the dangerous 'rites of passage' are all for males? I guess the womenfolk figure childbirth is enough.

I am to impulsive. I normally don't tell her I just explain at the doctor's office. When I try to talk to her about anything her response is generally "Why are you asking me this, you are going to do what you want anyway." It's true but I was just trying to be nice....

Wish I had more time to trap....

Sled riding as a kid was one of my favorite winter pastimes. We used to make jumps, tunnels and race all the time.

Women are wired to think stuff like "if I do this, I could get hurt." Takes the fun right outta everything!

Yes, like this, for me !

With enough experience , no one minds too much the natural risk and let each other have fun. If not enjoying the fun together. Being there to help in case of accident, but still being supportive , giving "the wings to fly !"
