Bobcats, especially the face, seem to give a lot of taxidermists trouble. Your cat is one of a very few I’ve seen that look real.

You are correct. The taxi told me well ahead of time that he used round pupils on his cats intentionally. He said getting the narrow pupils aligned properly was a nightmare for most taxidermists. I'll let him know someone noticed and maybe that will force him to refine his technique. I'm happy as can be with the round pupils.

As has been pointed out, those eyes are not even remotely wrong. The statement that cat pupils are always vertical slits is about as correct as saying that a cat track never shows claws. Ain't so. Taximan's photos show it plainly. If a cat is agitated or excited their pupils dialate bigtime. And your taxidermist is correct, Posco, aligning the verticle pupil eye on a 'cat mount is a royal pain in the pitooty. Back in the day, like 25 years ago, my reputation for mounting a realistic 'cat was well known in our neck of the woods, and I had plenty of them to mount. Even so, I still cring when I see some of the old 'cat mounts I did!! Unfortunetly I am violently allergic to the dang things and had to quit excepting them to mount, but I sure enjoyed working on 'cats when I wasn't sneezing and snoting.

Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better. At the rate he is going I should have this back in a week if not sooner and I'll post pics of the finished product. He does a really good job and goes well out of his way to give his customers what they want, he won't hesitate to modify a mold to suit a request.

That cat looks great so far.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

I've had you in mind. They're dropping but I've only made one short excursion looking for them. I'll keep you filled in.

I'm glad you guys like it. To top it off, the guy is one of the most likable people you would ever want to meet. Can't wait to get it on the wall.
