Not sure who to thank for this set as I saw it posted on here in a variety of ways. These SD dogs love this set! Was lucky to find a dead cow which supplied enough for a few more sets!

I cut the bottoms at a angle on my meat saw to drive them in without breaking them in harder ground, I keep a 18” stake in my set bucket to make a ground slot to start them also.

Lawdog: That's a great tip! I busted a few last year, but this year with the mild weather they have been going in great. Do you usually pound them pretty close to the ground? I have been going pretty much to the bottom and setting fairly close to the bone. Are you getting ready for the next snow? Looks like our NE neighbors are going to get hit for sure. Right now very unsure for our immediate area. I want to set a few Bobcat traps, but do not want to get the plastered with a foot of snow either!

Same here not sure what to do put in 1 cat set East River today I’d like to set up down South of me but like you waiting for a clearer weather report. Cubbies and baits are out supplies along the line set just need to set the cubbies and check the game cams.

You about have to go to the ground with the knot or the lure/holder might come out the back.
