And one in a MB750, he didnt make it down the rod so he was unhappily waiting on the bank for us.

I caught beaver with the MB 750 until I tried the NO BS Beaver Extreme. My 750s are retired now, never use them anymore. If I am setting a foot hold for beaver, it is the NO BS Beaver Extreme. They are built like a tank, simple and do not require tinkering to keep consistent and hold whatever steps in them. And a big bonus.....I do not need setters for them either. You must have arms the size of Popeyes. I cant budge the levers by hand, and the levers barely move if i stand on them. You cant go wrong with either trap, but for me I need setters for both of them. It's all about technique. I've seen a picture of QBD. He's not a big guy and I believe he's in his 70's. I'm 5'6" and 150 lbs. I have no problems compressing the springs with my feet. .

Heres one in a NO BS beaver trap, thats a size 13 boot on his tail. Their front feet only get so big..... unlike your overgrown clods! Seriously, if I were to buy new beaver traps knowing what I know now I would but the MB750’s, with Dave’s setters. I currently run the TS85’s because I love the loose jaw and smashing the levers is relatively easy for me.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Thanks silky! I am not that big and definitely do not have the strength I once had. And you are correct, I am 75. I used setters when I used MB 750s. No way I could do those short levers. But I do not have any problem setting the Beaver Extremes and removing them from catches by hand. I do not set them over my knee. I set them on the ground and push the levers down with my hands. To remove catches, I hook my fingers over the levers and pull them down. It's all about technique. I've seen a picture of QBD. He's not a big guy and I believe he's in his 70's. I'm 5'6" and 150 lbs.
