The only thing that causes fur prices to go up is a market for them.

A weak dollar allows other countries to purchase more with their dollars that way is what I was told. If you think about the last boom it was during a recession weak dollar times.

Fur is a commodity on the free market(supposedly free market).
It goes up and down relative to supply and demand.

I've heard it said that although it is a commodity it is a little more "unpredictable" for buyers/sellers due in part to the "fashion" aspect.

What Law Dog said. When the dollar sucks, the rest of the world can afford more dollars to bid with.

Follow oil prices. When oil is over a 100/barrel fur will be good . Under 75 its not good. Under 45 it a fire sale.

The world runs on oil....

That's my opinion too. Like gas, if there is a glut or over production, prices will be cheap. But, if there is a shortage, prices will be high.

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.
