Should all body grips be magnums? Why aren't they, besides the obvious being different laws

All I own are Belisles. I agree that it makes sense for all to be complete closing jaws. All of em should be made so the spring eyes cant go over the jaw corners.....and all should have the clip-on type safeties.

NO! Here's one example. Do nuisance control work around suburbia and catch a beaver by the foot or tail along side a walking path in a complete closure body grip and you'll sure wish you would have used a standard jaw and ate the loss/ snapped trap. Many nuisance control guys operate right under people's noses without them knowing about it...and for good reason. A beaver up on the path with a #330 on it's foot or tail will cause you a big headache. By and large you can catch beaver where you want to catch them so there's really no good reason to set in high visibility areas, period. Besides a foothold on a drowner in the same spot gets it out of sight. All of my trapping is in high visibility areas.

Oh and the very last thing I want is an educated beaver. I'll take an educated beaver over a group of suburbia/ city women with cell phones taking video and making calls to anyone who can help their poor beaver thrashing around with a #330 hanging off them any day. The fun starts when you show up. I'm in the middle of 3 million people here....sometimes you can't get away from "high visibility" areas here (but only takes steps) to decrease human conflict. To each his own.

To each his own. I'll see your 3 million and raise you a couple million more, I trap metro Atlanta. While I totally agree with the hatred of Karen's I long ago earned that t-shirt and know just when, where and how. My point is this, I want every snapped trap holding the specific critter I want. It's up to me to determine just where I want that to happen.
