Why is it that I end up moving boats around the place this time of the year. The third week of January I have to take a 54foot Centurion from Hilton Head Island to St Augustine and I just had a call from someone that wants me to take a 33 foot Najad from Pensacola MD to Hilton Head Island. Cant those folks pick a warmer time of year to have me drive their boats around ?? Not complaining as it pays the bills. Just wondering.

Because some boat owners want to get that last minute fishing, family & friends party cruise in. That's why you should be getting the big $$$$. :-)

Used to be $250 PER HOUR from home port to destination port underway and $50 PER HOUR layover + any incurred expenses.

I used to work at a Chevy dealership. This is the time when the Corvette owners wanted to get their cars worked on. Fun , fixing a car then have to go road test the thing in snow with very wide unidirectional tires.
Worked out good for the car's owner , sucked for the mechanic.

Easy fix: charge a higher winter rate.
Boco couldn't catch a cold. But if he did, it would be Top Lot.

They are customers of mine that I do boat repairs for. I get a grand a day for the deliveries plus expenses. So I am not complaining. Imlike to sail now and then. But I only did one delivery all summer and now two in 3 weeks and turned one down that I did not like the condition of the boat and the gy did not want to put things right pre delivery. So I passed tat one up and it was not one of my customers anyway. For the most part, sailing boats around is less work than fixing them. The days are somewhat longer for less money per hour but its a nice change now and then.

Just wondering. if it was warm and pleasant sailing they might have done it themselves. but it is unpleasant so they pay you.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
