My homestead sits close to the meadows (Saltwater marsh) This morning I'm hearing lots of shoot'n.
make me want to say the with building snares and go duck shoot'n.
But I'm so far behind on fill'n orders. I just cant go.
10 years ago I would said Let'm wait. .Must be a sign of becoming a STORE KEEPER. And not a freeman, trapper, hunter.
Age is setting in.
All I can say now is "Been there,Did that"

Same here, my place sits on the edge of a large lake. It must be opening day of the late duck season. Not only was I awakened to a foot of fresh snow, but a volley of gunshots from the front yard. We have about 100 feet of shelf ice on the bay, that yesterday was covered with Mallards, Canada Geese, and Swans.

A lot of geese around here yet. I love to hear them in late after and mornings coming and going.

Give me a fish, I will eat for a day. Teach me to fish, I will eat for a lifetime

It's been awhile since I killed ducks on the meadows, can't hardly get in or out of the boat, can't hardly sit up to shoot, and just don't have the fire to go,, always went by myself.

I see these young guys going, boy do they have a lot to learn.... cool

The geese and ducks are smarter then I am.At least they are smart enough to fly south for the winter.
