I've been wracking my brain trying to remember where I put some of my scouting cameras. I thought maybe they were buried under some of the junk I lug around in my truck but they didn't show up there. I pulled the house apart in the search and nothing turned up. Same for the garage.

Today I carried a bunch of traps into a beaver pond I plan on setting. I took just one beaver off it last year and I used snares as White had suggested. I think I was so excited about snaring a beaver, I forgot all about my cameras.

I happened to glance up at a tree overhanging the pond and I saw a scouting camera pointed at me. I wondered who in the world was way down in here setting cameras. Then I thought, no, it can't be. As I approached it I saw it was indeed my camera. Then I wondered. I had a camera hanging on another tree 90 degrees to this one on the far side of the pond. There was my other camera. That one was turned upside down, likely by a coon at some point.

One camera had some battery life left in it yet and the other was dead. I got pics of moose(es). A bull as his antlers developed, cows and calves as they grew, mink, coyote, fox, beaver, a crane and some ducks.

They've been hanging there since March.

I have learned two very important things this fall. I forgot what the first one was but the second was that I have to start writing stuff down.

Will do. I have about four thousand pics to go through but I'll grab some highlights.

Thanks. I've got to run and buy a new SD card reader. The one I have has always been temperamental...you have to hold your mouth just right to get it to work. I'll post more pics in a bit after I make the run.

Like you, I came up 1 camera short last week. But, AHA!, I forgot to forget where I placed it, and walked right to it. Whew.

Ha! There are a plethora of ladder stands for bear hunters up here, I buy them by the half dozen and I haven’t a clue where they are between bear hunting and deer hunting. I finally started keeping a list of the places they are right on the fridge.
Cameras I’ve left over the year as well particularly when I move them onto winter canine bait stashes.

They are some of the best (clear) pictures I ever saw from a trail Cam. Thanks for posting.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.
