In 2005, the Discovery Channel had a contest where viewers were asked to write in who they thought the greatest Americans that ever lived were. Each week viewers were asked to send in their votes. It lasted 3 weeks starting with 100 names the first week. The second week it was narrowed down to 10 names. The third and final week it was down to 5 names. They were Abe Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, George Washington, Martin Luther King, and Ben Franklin. Viewers voted on those 5. The results were 1. Ronald Reagan, 2. Abe Lincoln, 3. MLK, 4. George Washington, 5. Ben Franklin.
Interestingly, Reagan beat Lincoln by a very narrow margin. Reagan had died just prior to this and it was felt this could have been a factor. Some other notable people in the top 10 were GW Bush, Bill Clinton, ELVIS, FDR, and Oprah rounded out the top 10. Huh? A list of 5 presidents but 2 were never president?

Wasn't about greatest presidents. It was about the greatest Americans that ever lived.

Obama was a good speaker. He was simply a puppet for his handlers. He was a fantastic speaker who I enjoyed listening to even if I didn't agree with anything he was doing. Its the reason he was so popular. People would just get caught up in his speaking and miss what he was actually saying and even more importantly doing. obama was good at delivering speeches that were written down, but a terrible speaker when he did not have a prepared speech to give. President George W. Bush was very poor at giving prepared speeches, but okay at just speaking. obama's biggest wrong was choosing to create more racial tension when he could of easily done more to end racial tension than any other president by just holding up his own election as a great step forward together. [quote=Bigbuck]Of the total of 44 US Presidents: Obama rated 5th best president ever. I was just reading a Democratic publicity release that said, "...after a little more than 4 years, Obama has been rated the 5th best president ever."
The details according to White House Publicists: * Reagan, Lincoln, and 8 others tied for first, * 15 presidents tied for second, * 17 other presidents tied for third, * Jimmy Carter came in 4th, and * Obama came in 5th...
Yeah...... I wish McCain would have been elected so I could buy the loaded 2008 Chevrolet Suburban, with only 13,000 miles on the odometer even cheaper than the 29.5K I paid for it.
Let's not forget my Ruger (RGR) stock I bought for Less than $8.00 in 2007..... Maybe I over paid!
Obama brought this country back from the brink of total financial collapse. You may not like the "black man", but give him credit for what he did! Bailed out the banks, three car companies, and started the market increase.
All the ammo hoarding, high ammo/gun prices and the hype over Obama taking our guns..... Never a mention from him on any gun issue until,Sandy Hook..... Oh wait, some of you believe that that never happened.
