Is there even a different between Backbreaker and Beaver Plus, they smell the same. I know ones a Curiosity lure and ones Heavy Castor. Now that I have both I'm kinds suspicious or curious if there even is a difference, besides what's written on the sticker. I bought the Beaver Plus as a lure to put in the bush up stream of 330's. If there isn't a differences I would've just bought Backbreaker again hmm I'd love to hear some info on how it's different

So, you're curious about the difference? My guess is the keen noses of them flat tails will discern something different.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

There is a definite difference. Go into a colony and burn them on Backbreaker to the point of avoidance (all operator error not fault of the lure) then put out a touch of Beaver Plus you'll be back in flat tails in no time. I've proven this to my own satisfaction. BUT, I will caution heavy reliance (aka abuse) on any castor based lure is the operator error I refer to.

As I understand it, Beaver Plus is castor based and has ingredients to make it a curiosity lure for beaver. Backbreaker is the heavy castor lure that works on beaver, otter, bobcats, coyotes and even grey squirrels. Every critter may not know what a beaver is but they are drawn to the castor smell. Woodchipper is the food lure for beaver. Hope that helps you, Paul can answer any other questions you have since they are his creations. I do know that someone had some of Pauls lures tested by a chemist and his formulations were consistent in every batch tested.

Thank you That's what I was wondering if one is light or no castor

Beaver Plus has some castor in it, but nothing like Backbreaker has. Beaver Plus also has two curiosity ingredients, external body odor ingredient (sac oil), as well as a food ingredient. It is very versatile and can be used at food sets, castor mounds or anywhere you want to draw the beaver to. It doesn't anger the beavers like Backbreaker does. I hope this answers your question about Beaver Plus. Dad named it Beaver Plus, because it drew more than beavers. It would bring in the occasional otter, raccoon, bobcat, etc. They sure don't smell the same to me - lol. I prefer the smell of Backbreaker. After stirring a bucket of Backbreaker, I can't help but sniff my fingers. My wife accuses me of being a pervert, so then I have to revert to closet sniffing.

I use Backbreaker exclusively and I sit at my desk and sniff my fingers! I can’t get enough of it!!

I can smell the difference as well. While I definitely get the castor in Beaver Plus there's a couple other notes I smell as well, one I suspect Woodchipper also shares. And yes Backbreaker needs to be marketed as a cologne. LOL

Did you know that beaver castor was used as a flavoring in artificial vanilla flavoring?

Did you know that beaver castor was used as a flavoring in artificial vanilla flavoring? You know...my girlfriend is really pretty...and a bit gullible. I tell her stuff like this all the time. That castor is also in high-end perfume. As a test, I told her they're using beaver castor in the Covid vaccines...hook, line and sinker.
