Son in law and his brother have a chemical and fertilizer business besides farming. They wanted to have a fish fry at their shop this afternoon and invited a lot of clients and farmer friends. I supplied the blue cat, 2 five gallon buckets, cut up and ready to go. Helped fry it and the taters and could barely keep ahead of them hungry suckers. They ate it all like they hated me. But I did pick up about 8500 more acres to trap on. [Linked Image]

Thanks men. Savell that's what we try and run in it ( peanut oil). We heat it back up the next day and then drain it through a coffee filter and back in the jug. Will last a long time doing it like that as long as you don't skorch it.
Michael, probably won't trap it for coyotes and cats this year, but they have some beaver problems l should be able to take care of in about another month. Trapping problem beaver generally opens the rest of it up. Helps too when there ain't many trappers left around here and you just let the land owners get foundered on fish, taters, mack and cheese, bake beans, and barley pops. Take um a while to figure out l don't know squat bout trapping. laugh

I'm going to a fish fry Saturday in Alabama about an hour from Pensacola. It's been about ten years since my last one. Needless to say I plan on eating a lot. I'd rather eat fried catfish than Salmon.

When we're doing a bunch Pete, we cheat a little and use some pre mixed dry batter. It's called Andy's fish fry. We use the spisey version of it in the red bag. Just taking it out of water soak, drain well , into the Andy's, and fry at 350 till she floats. Have used milk, beer, lemon aid, sprite, Mountain Dew to soak 24 hours in before frying.

Do you do anything special to your potatoes? Just slice and fry?

It is what it is.

We took two gallons out of the freezer for new years and fried them in Andy's last night . There were some tenderloins from a 50 or sixty pounder mixed in there those are my favorite

Some times we shake them up in Slap Yo Mama or something else to season them right before they go in the grease. Got to keep them in water after slice in them up or they will start to turn dark.
