Did I miss the hate messages about the Buckeyes and how they did not deserve to be in the playoffs? Best game I have ever watched them play! Go Buc's!!

Yes it’s great to live in a state with a great college football team to root for. I’d hate to live in a state where my hometown team was irrelevant every year like...... oh say Kentucky?

On a serious note I was hoping the better team didn’t win it this year like last cause the better team last year lost albeit with some help. After watching the game though I think Clemson was overhyped?

Ohio Is a great team but they still changed the rules to get them Into the playoffs and that's not right.

Ohio Is a great team but they still changed the rules to get them Into the playoffs and that's not right. Wrong, the rule was winning 6 games and that never changed. The schedule was a fudged up mess from the beginning, and it should have been clear it was going to change because of cancellations. They played every game they were allowed to play and won, exactly what the other teams did. Edit: just to clarify, I don’t really follow any sports and this is how I understood it. Hopefully I got it right. From what I can see, the Big 10 screwed all their teams from the beginning with the way they handled things and the schedule they threw together. All any of the teams could do was play when they could and adjust as needed.

Beav,
Those rules were made on the fly THIS YEAR when the Big 10 hastily put a season together after originally cancelling it. They weren't set in stone. The Big 10 commissioner messed up by cancelling the season. Once he came to his senses he messed up again by starting the season as late as they did. They didn't allow a week or two cushion at the end of the season so teams could make up cancelled games if necessary. If the Big 10 would have started the season a week or two earlier they would have had the window to schedule make up games.
Ohio State played their last two games with over 20 of its players on the covid list. According to a source on one of the sports talk shows, Michigan cancelled their game with Ohio State with only 9 guys on the covid list. If that is true, Michigan should have played the game. Ohio State still had 5 or 6 key players on the covid list last night that couldn't be with the team.

I think the rule change was playing for the conference championship. They only had 5 wins and the rules stated 6 was needed, so the rules were changed to allow them into that game. That gave them 6 wins plus the conference championship. I think you’re right, people are getting that mixed up with rules to make it in the playoffs. No rules were changed to allow them in the playoffs. Lets face it, the Big 10 championship doesn’t mean much this year.

Rules aside, two teams played and only one could be the winner. Hats off to Ohio state, they whipped them across the board. Clemson... did they get on a different bus to elsewhere and someone stood in for them? From the quarterback on down Clemson looked terrible other than a very few stands by the o-line, way to few. The final should be a great game. Osky

Well The bottom line Is the rules were changed and that gave OSU a chance at being In the play offs. Without the rule change they would not have been there.

The rule change gave them a chance to play in the Big 10 championship game, not the playoffs. They still may have been considered for the playoffs even if they didn't get to play in the Big 10 championship game. That sure helped by winning it but if they never played in it they still were eligible for the playoffs if the committee would have chosen them.

Ohio Is a great team but they still changed the rules to get them Into the playoffs and that's not right. The rules were changed a lot last year due to the pandemic and continue to change. It obviously wasn't Ohio State's fault they were not allowed to play because of the new rules, that you're ignoring. Keith

Trevor Lawrence....needed some humble pie anyway..... Yes sir, him and Debo Interesting. I know he’s good but I never bought into the superhuman category people put him in. Seems to have happy feet and shows a bit too much panic when things go awry. Poise issue to me, I will be surprised if he goes big in his NFL years, but what domI know. Osky
