Is there stuff any good quality wise? I don't own anything from them. They seem to be popping up on tool searches quite often these days.

I recently bought their 4214 drill press after doing a ton of research. I am confident that I got the best bang for my buck. It compares favorably with drill presses twice and even three times the price. I love the no-belt-change variable speed, just wish the rpm's went a bit lower. Plenty of power. I like the built in work light and the laser is very accurate right out of the box. One concern was customer service which many reviewers said sucked. Mine arrived with the depth stop/gauge slightly damaged from shipping. I called Wen, got a hold of a service rep immediately and had an entire new assembly shipped for free within three days. I was very impressed. I built this rolling cart/stand for it.
Eh...wot?

NICE! I've been looking for a new floor model drill press with a dial Variable speed and a depth gauge. They are all a bit pricy with those features. My cheapo does the job for now but it's something I've had my eyes out for.

I've been looking at their Oscillating Belt and Spindle Sander and their 6 x 48 in. Belt and 9 in. Disc Sander with Stand. Haven't decided which one yet.

Lots of Chinese parts are used to make WEN products.
But also my Milwaukee cordless tools are made in China too.
I've had decent luck with WEN tools I've owned in the past.

I've had decent luck with WEN tools I've owned in the past. I have a combo sander from them. It’s ok, it is the same cheap model that Ryobi and others put out. It’s ok for what I’m doing with it but I wouldn’t sand anything important with it. Cheap china. Yep made in China. In some of the same factories JET, Powermatic, Wilton, Edwards, Promac, Grizzly, Shop Fox, Laguna, Rikon and SawStop are made.

Actually, I think SawStops are made in Taiwan. But, China or Taiwan, is there a big difference?

I've heard that. Something about ISO ratings but I didn't really dig into it.

I have been looking at drill presses
I have looked at the 4214 , it seems all the drill presses have a rather short spindle travel the 4214 3 1/8 inches only
having come form almost entirely working on production drill presses with 6 inches of qill travel or more I wasn't sure if 3 1/8 would be enough but it is more than double the money to get to 4 inches of travel.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I've been waiting for an old shop drill press with variable speed adjust and a square cast table to fall into my lap. Like an old Powermatic or something. I just missed one for $400 last year. He sold it an hour before I saw the add and called.
