Sometimes my mind stays so busy I can't go to sleep. My corny solution (not whisky) is to fill my mind by thinking "sleep" as I breathe in and "sleep" as I breathe out.

Anyone else have this issue? Go to bed around 9-10:00 and wake up from around 2-4 or 5:00. Browse the iPad, drink a cup of coffee but just ain’t tired but too tired to try to get something productive done. I’ve got a lot on my mind lately, helping son renovate his first twinplex, on year 3 of my cabin/house build, navigating my business thru these crazy times (sales way down), then just dealing with normal family crap. Anyone else? Get off the caffeine. That is what fixed my sleeping issues.

I have three tricks I play on myself when I can't sleep. 1) Run my trapline in my head keeping track of the numbers each type of trap separately. Then run your line in reverse order of how you normally check your line. 2) Drink one beer rapidly. Beer likes company. If you deprive it of the company of another beer, it falls asleep and so will you. 3) If I'm having trouble with back pain which is worse than the normal chronic back pain I always have, I take a shower as hot as I can stand it. My shower nozzle comes out like a needle gun. Between that and the extra heat, it loosens my back muscles up and wipes me out. I used to do the same thing with my back before my back operation.

Well thanks for everyone’s tips and sleep problems they’re having. Caffeine could definitely be a problem, I also am thinking a new sleep study for my cpap? I’m trying to stay off meds for this but Tylenol pm knocks me out good, just don’t want to get in a habit of taking it every night

I had to go from a cpap to a bi-pap.

cut ouf the caffeine and add some exercise like a 30 min walk I thought most outdoors walked more than 30 minutes a day. Or at least they did before they started riding ATVS.

I have not had a normal sleep scedual in 14.5 years due to work. I'm luckey to get 5 hrs or so to sleep if I can go right to sleep.
My work scedual is 12hr rotating shifts. A week on days the next nights and I usually work 16hrs not 12.
I'm starting to feel old and only 40. Lol only 40 hmm I remember when that was ancient. Maybe I am getting old.
I went to the Dr. Over the sleep issue several years back. He gave me some sleeping pills that were like a z pack progressively taking more. One day I sleep 18 hrs got up to relieve the bladder and went back to bed for 4 mor hrs. That was the last time for that.
If it's new and from what you posted I'm guessing its stress related. I was really up tight myself the last month or so. Guys on night shift should get paid 10-20k more. I truly believe it leads to a shorter life. Circadian rhythm is out of wack. It's been proven that it lessens life expectancy.

I have a story. My mother (74) has struggled with getting to sleep and then sleeping more than a couple hours at a time for years. In the past year it has got so bad that she would get anxious in the evening knowing that she would be going to bed and not be able to sleep, she tried every natural remedy and suggestion she could get to no avail, she did not want to take any pharmaceuticals. Now my mother has never been a drinker, I can't even recall seeing her with a drink in her hand, as the story goes when my folks were young and dating my dad took her out to a party and she got drunk and puked in my dads Austin Healy and that was the last time mom drank. A couple months ago my mother was having a conversation with one of here granddaughters about her sleeping woes and her granddaughter told her about pot gummies, yep pot gummies... Mom being so desperate then went to the dispensary (in Michigan) and talked to a "nice man" there and he made a recommendation, she took the recommendation and from that night to this she has slept through the night. I do not know what strength dosage she is taking but she eats one gummy 1/2 hour before bed and sleeps through the night... yep my 74 your old mother is a pothead..lol All I'm concerned with is my mother getting her sleep and not having anxiety over it.

CBD oil. Make sure its high quality stuff and not that junk from a gas station or small shop. It's non-psychoactive and has been a real game changer.
