My son is about the correct age to start receiving his own trapping magazine subscription. Are the current fur fish and game magazines worth while to subscribe to or is there something else out there that I would be better off getting for him?

FFG is great for all round outdoor activities. I.e. hunting, fishing, trapping. If you desire strictly trapping I prefer The Trapper. Does your state offer a free magazine with annual membership?

The adult membership yes. The kids doesn’t.

I'd get him Trappers post also. FFGame off the rack to see where his interest lies

FFG is solid. I've been having issues with receiving the mags in the last 2 years and have to call them every few months. They've always been great when I've contacted them. Seem to have an issue with the folks that do their printing for them.

Agreed.

I actually canceled my subscription to FFG years ago due to the overly optimistic fur reports. Wasn't even close to reality most times. I recently saw they donated quite abit of money to the FTA so I'll likely renew....I just won't read their fur market report. There is other good stuff in that magazine but for a primary trapping magazine go with "Trappers Post". Your son will learn quite abit more with the Post.

A young person would like FFG better. It covers all the outdoors, hunting fishing trapping. Kids jump from one to the other.

For a kid, I would get him FFG. If he is into trapping, he's into fishing and hunting also. It's the best all around mag in my opinion.

I'd go with either FFG or Trappers Post. Both great.

FFG has a nice variety of trapping-hunting-fishing that may be better if your kid is into all of them.

Trappers Post is basically dedicated trapping, but a very well put together magazine. Plus the trap gear ads give a kid something to look over and develop that gear addiction we all have.

FFG is a great fit because it covers more than just trapping, it will feed his interests in the outdoors, which is good. He'll like the tips and short stuff too.

I've had a subscription to FFG since I was a kid. It's part of what got me hooked on trapping. 50 years of reading it and I still look forward to it in the mail. If you can afford 2 also get him Trappers Post it is the best trapping only mag out there

FFG was like a bible to me in the early 70's. I caught my first beaver after reading an article how to trap beavers.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
