I heard Dr. Fauci say on Meet the Press we hope we don’t have to do a lockdown country wide., etc. If push comes to shove, can they force all states to do it and how will they do it.

Who is going to enforce them? What federal dept. has the manpower to enforce it? Shoot, states can't even enforce statewide lockdowns.

Michigan apparently has some pretty strict lockdowns. All the snowmobilers from the UP are coming across to WI to hit the taverns. Business is booming!

I can only think of the feds will threaten to withhold funds from the states that refuse.

I don't think they have the authority to do any such thing, any more.thean the feds have the authority to enforce a national mask mandate.

By “lockdown” what they really mean is forcing all “non-essential” businesses, and all government run property (parks, fishing access sites, etc) to close, and fining them heavily if they don’t. It’s easily enforced. It’s a fairly effective way to keep people home without actually forcing people to stay home. If nobody has work or malls or parks to go to, they’re probably just going to stay home. Most of us won’t, but you gotta remember that most people in this country don’t regularly go to the woods and hills. If nothing is open, they have nowhere to go.

They probably can do that but states that are open won’t and don’t need the money. I remember whenever Trump suggested doing that to cities that didn’t enforce immigration laws and cooperate with ICE and the media raised holy heck. I figure they will do the same on this subject. Lol

It would be up to the states to enforce it. If you live in a blue state, they will try there darnest to enforce it. I would imagine the red states wont enforce it at all.
