I poked my finger through making a 2" hole in the belly by the back legs and another about an 1.5" in the arm put of the front leg.

I h was suprised how soft it was. I'm planning on having all my fur taned. Will they make the hes bigger? Is it worth tanning now,?

I would say junk. I tossed on that I did the same thing to but I sell to a taxidermist so it was a definite no.

Wish I had more time to trap....

If your going to tan it as a wall hanger, sew it up with some dental floss and tie tight knots. I've sewn up some yotes that were shot with 12 gauges and varmint bullets. To look at it you wouldn't have thought besty ross could have sewn it up, but they turned out great and couldn't tell on the fur side.

This is the plan for now. I would like to have some things made with my fur ar some point in the future. But for now they will be wall hangers for sale and gifts.

So what's the best method to sew, stitch spacing from the edge and apart. Sew before fleshing and drying of course?

I'm know nothing on fur handling beyond skinning. And obviously not smart enought not to keep from putting holes in then doing that.

Glovers needle,a 5 or 7 size,upholstry thread and a whip stitch.
Try to keep fur out of the stitches.dampening the fur around the hole will help with that.

Stick It up from the leather side then you won't have to worry to much about getting fur hung up In the stitches.

Im thinking Beav meant to enter the needle from the leather side with each stitch. At least that's how I do it.
