When one gets on up in years you sometimes have to scatter them out to get the job done.

20 gauge 1 ounce 4 shot at 35 yards broadside and 45 yards from impact.

#4 shot or #4 buckshot?

NICE

I would be curios to see a picture after skinning to see where all the shot hit and how deep it got

I was at the farm last week and they asked me if I wanted the runt , sure but I only have my 12 ga with #4 with , could I borrow the farms 22lr I kinda though #4 from a few inches was going to make a mess and it was already a very small pig.

I haven't pulled them out yet b/c they are hard to find but copper plaited BBs hit hard with the right choke and I always suspected they would do fine on an eating sized hog

They are dang sure hard on livestock killers. wink Expect they would work a hog over too. Used to get them at a little store in Liberty MO called Rodger's sporting goods. Last time I bought some they told me that they couldn't get them anymore, so I walked back over to the shelf and got the rest of them. I still have some, but am stingy with their use.

A framing hammer and a good sticking knife would have done the job also.

I didn't see where any had come out on the off side. I don't know about the damage they did as I loaded the hog and took it to a young family that really needed the meat.

I couldn't get any buckshot so I got the 4 shot and didn't know if it would do the job or not.It sure worked on this one.It was early in the morning just at day break and I could barely see the hog but was able to get downwind of it and got up close with the cover of an algerita bush.

My dog is a little young to be grabbing an ear.

Nice. 4 shot is no joke. Used to use it goose hunting a lot.

#9 TSS out of a 20 will kill one stone dead at 37 yards...especially a direct head on shot.
