watching the video and understanding he had a warrant for his arrest , the police believed he was kidnapping 3 children , he was resisting arrest , and had a knife they had already unsuccessfully tazed him.

it seemed to meet all the criteria for use of force .

would it have been better if some other solution was found , possibly , but when a wanted person is about to arm themselves with a 2 ton weapon in the process kidnapping 3 kids.

it can only be decided on what the officers knew at the time.

they knew Blake had pulled a gun on an officer previously. they knew he was wanted and had an active warrant. they knew he was armed , they knew he was resisting. they knew he was fleeing , the believed he was arming himself with a vehicular weapon and kidnapping 3 kids. as well as auto theft.

had they not shot him, there would have been an amber alert 5 minutes later for 3 kidnapped kids

I think they intentionally waited for the coldest weeks of the year to not charge the officers.

heard that the Kenosha city council asked that they be given a minimum 48 hour warning before any decision was released so they would have time to activate guard and additional LEO.

And...he did not die. I honestly think some folks were hoping he would pass away so there would be more fuel to their fires. If the cop wanted to kill him, he could've but he didn't.
