My Mini 14 is from the 90's and requires the side mount for a scope. I found a 4x20 Ultralux scope with mount on Gunbroker for $40. That seems way too cheap for a scope and mounts. Has anyone had any experience with this set up?

I had a b-square mount on the side of a series 181 1979 vintage it replaces the bolt hold open side plate then has a couple set screws to level it off the top surfaces of the action.
it was very high , and so-so accuracy I sold the gun at a profit and built an AR with the cash
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Ya, thought about that but like the feel of the mini vs an AR.

No red dots for me or anything that requires batteries. I'm old and forgetful so too easy to forget to turn it off. Ditchdiver, I may not but as I get older my eyes aren't as good as they used to be. Just looking into options.

If you need a stock for a mini 14 I have nearly every configuration. They never did much for me but I did have one chambered in 222 I wish I had kept.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I have the Ranch model in SS with the scope mounts built in on top the thing could not shoot a group out of the box so I sent it back to the factory it came back and shoots fine now great gun late season in the truck gun.

Yes, that one is the one I was thinking about. Good reviews and for a reasonable price too. Found some different scope mounts but still not sure if I want to go that route as I do like my peep sights Lawdog; I wish mine was the ranch model but have to work with what I have. This is my truck rifle too.

I won't put a scope on my mini-14. When you get older you might need to Yep eye sight gets a little blurry with age.Agreed

I won't put a scope on my mini-14. I said the same thing about some of my rifles,,until my eyes got to where the rifles were useless to me without scopes on them.

Mine was built to take a scope, no issues with the one I have on it shoots like any other rifle.
