When I bought the water line store manager said there were 3 grades. I dont remember the designations. He had the middle grade and the bottom grade in store. Said he could order the best grade if I wanted him too. Said their best grade just cost more and wasn't any better. I just took him at his word. Bought the middle grade and so far no problems. I have never let it freeze so no idea how that would work. It supposed to survive freezing though.

This is what I’m dealing with. Electrolysis is eating every brass fitting in the house from the outside in. I will start this weekend replacing every brass fitting in the house with plastic pex fittings. They only lasted 19 years. I’ve used pex for years and love it. I did switch a couple years ago to the SS clamps instead of the copper ones. Water in the basement on your anniversary is a bit of a buzz killer sick

It does survive freezing Danny. The place in Illinois had a line that would freeze every year. 50 year life expectancy has me figuring I won't have to worry on it .

Bob, Sharkbites have their place but 2 issues: First is cost. With a little practice crimp fittings are just as fast as sharkbites and way cheaper. 2nd is code: Sharkbites are illegal inside walls in some states. Only allowed where accessible. Something to check.

Expansion fittings require pex A. I bought all my stuff online, and did the basement, first floor, and connected to the pipes that run up to the 2nd story, for like $300. That I closed the tool, fittings, pipe, stub outs, shutoffs, hose faucets, and manifolds. They sell the stuff at menards, but it's probably cheaper to get it online. I also used pex for running new hydronic heat (radiator) piping. That has to be oxygen barrier pex A.

Pawnee I can see where that might dampen the mood!

I’ll run by menards tonight and see what they have

Did my whole place in 3/4 to 1/2 pex.
Great except the pressure at shower and sink.
I plan a redo of some larger tube, another bladder tank,
and I have an extra pump but not sure it's needed.
Though the ejector is suspect.

Somethings not right, plenty pressure from garden hose connected near tank
but further on pressure sucks.
A volume thing perhaps.

I'd hire someone if I found that guy.

It's a Sharkbite brand that i picked up at the Home Despot.

Thanks. I got the bright idea my tire chain / j-hook tools might work
but I think the pitch is wrong.
And, the crimps I have are the other design.
We have two real hardware stores left, I'll get one there for stainless.

Did you happen to cut any of those lines with a saw? When I did my bathroom I made that mistake, and a few of the shavings got stuck in the valves going to the shower head, and took the pressure down to nothing. Cleaned them out and it worked just fine

No sir. The guy that did it used a snap cutter and insisted on the stainless like mentioned here.
He is at top of the game, except, all his experience was with city water.
I think my problem is at or near the elder tank or pump (edit) or the ejector.

I checked the sink diffuser today, it is clean.

Did you do a pressure check on your bladder tank? It doesn't take much to get a hole in the bladder on them. Sand points are especially hard on them. If the pump kicks on as soon as you run water is an indicator.

If you reused a metal pipe it could be your problem as well. Have seen some the whole pipe was logged from calcium build up. That would explain the good pressure at the tank and poor in the shower.

I used pex tubing with the SS clamps that crimp on the end when I put in my outdoor boiler, if I can do it anybody can. My one advice is leave a little extra to allow for changes without splicing in a lot of places. With the SS bands you can do any size band with the single tool.
