Interesting video and spot on.
Fails to mention that the current World Record Black Bear with a bow was killed in New Jersey of all places! And just a couple of years ago.
Who would have guessed that eating out of trash cans would grow big bears?
Pete There is a photo of that P&Y world record bear in the video and also a photo of another New Jersey giant. Some giants come out of the northern half of that state but not any kind of numbers of them. Plus their idiot governor has promised to ban the bear hunt by next year.

You will get no argument from me about NJ Governor Phil Murphy being a complete and total idiot!

This one went #556 after the dogs ran it for about 6 or 7 hours. Bet that one didn't go up a tree! Correct. You gotta get if front of those big boys. Put a pack of dogs on him at about daylight. He decided to just go a mile of two and hang out in a big beaver swamp. So... a guide & hunter hiked in after him. They got close to the bear but could never see him. So we sent in a second pack of dogs. Things got too hot in the swamp and the bear decided to travel. The dogs had GPS collars and when the bear left the swamp the guide/hunter were within 100 yards of the walking bear. Some time later when my gun went off the guide/hunter were 1 mile behind the dogs/bear. Moral of the story, you'll most likely never catch a walking bear from behind. just get in front of it and shoot when they cross a road (trail). Here's the end of the hunt.

Surprised you got that bear back to the road in one piece. Did you shoot it when it crossed the road? Shot on a private logging road. Four of us couldn't load it but three guys came driving bye and helped.
