I guess what they mean by "long" ton is a metric ton. Its typically spelled "tonne" in a formal but I suspect that the "owner" wanted that shade on his quote...

"And God said, Let us make man in our image and let them have dominion and all the creatures that move along the ground".

To confuse things a little more, a metric ton weights 2204.6 pounds, a little different than an old Britsh long ton.

Here in northern NY , short steel $300/ ton, tin $200/ ton, long steel $250/ ton, cars complete $310/ ton. These prices have risen the last few weeks. As usual as oil prices rise so does scrap metal.

Prices must have gone up. Last I took some I think it was closer to $100/ton.

seen an add on FB yesterday for 170 a ton. I give all mine away so can't say how accurate that price is.

It went up a little.
Big question is what will happen as Pres. changes.

Should I stay or should I go now...

Unprepared $155 a ton in my area.

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

I’ve got two old pick ups to haul in and some odd ball copper and aluminum, I plan to get hauled in the next week. Not sure if it will go up or down though......

I got $2.42 for #1 copper, 2.22 for #2. Sold it for that.
Aluminum cans are only at .35 and scrap aluminum is at .30. I'll hang onto my aluminum for a better price.
