When you tan a coyote should you remove the ear cartilage?

No Kevin, but you should separate the back from the cartalage. You can do that by running your thumb into the ear, between the cartalage and the back, then turn it inside out, a little at a time. I could show you much easier than trying to write it!

Bruce, it is the best policy to turn the ears on anything you want to keep as a taxidermy specimen. There is always a chance of fur slipping if the solutions don't penetrate all the way through.

IMO you get a much better look for a wall hanger if you do. For craft fur no, unless you are using the face.
