Something to be said about how high the levers can go too. I think higher is better to some extent. Which one has levers that sit higher with a paw in the trap?

I like the more meat on the levers. Might help on the twisting levers when I take off the helper springs.

The biggest difference in the two traps is the price. About three dollars a trap like for like. That is four coil price vs. 4 coil price. Two coil bridgers compared to four coiled dukes are about $1.50 a trap more. I sell quite a few of both and the differences other than price and negligible.

Had a kid bring me his 20 brand new duke #2 dogless traps to try and get them to set flat because the jaw opposite of the one the pan holds were high. I couldn't get them to set flat no matter what i did. Even took off the 4 coils to make them two coils because I thought it may help.it did not. The loose jaw is still high on all of them. Is anyone else experiencing this with the new duke #2 dogless?

MTPs or Bridger over duke I tend to agree. But the design of the inside of the levers on the Duke is the same design that MTP went to when the Bridger 1.65s were experiencing too many pullouts. They call that trap the 1.65 special now......I think. Im curious if that lever design locks up better that levers with square insides. Ive had 2 coons pull out of the Bridger 2 dogless past few days. One was back foot catch and other was front foot catch. Not a big deal but those turkey egg-eating coons needed to go.

I dont use any 1.65s. Just noticed the lever design change on the older version and then the design change to lessons pullouts... Now I see that same design on the Dukes dogless...

The pull-out problem was with the Bridger 1 1/2 special trap. It has the tapered/ramp type lever openings like those Dog-less dukes. As far as getting the loose jaw to lay down, you would have to do what Kendall did with the No-Bs trap. That is to put a small spot of weld on the lever were the powered jaw rests when set. This forces the lever down lower and lets the loose jaw set lower.

Every time I turn around there’s another duke that looks exactly like an mb or a Bridger. I don’t care what they make or how good it is, that alone is reason enough for me to never buy another duke.

Well...this wasnt meant to be a "I hate Duke Traps because they are copycats" thread. Maybe my title was wrong.
