They will have to get a woman on the moon first to answer that question of an" in person auction".

The April auction at FHA is still on track.

Even though the last receiving date is next weekend, I’m willing to bet that goods received shortly after the last receiving date will still be on the April auction. Even goods received in February might make it.

April is going to be their one big sale this season and they are going to do their very best to get as many goods on that sale as possible. That is MY opinion.

The FHA sale in August had live buyers in the room. They had to be Canadian but there were really people in the room. I expect the April sale will have live people in the room, hopefully from more places than Canada

After the April sale, the next FHA sale will be in June or July. Haven’t set a date yet. Too late to have a good sale, in my opinion. The April sale is going to be the “biggest and best” FHA this fur season

Why won’t you make that sale? Don’t be too concerned about the January 16 last receiving date. See my previous post about that date being flexible.

In my opinion, you need to just bite the bullet and do something otherwise you are going to be sitting here in August 2021 wondering what to do with last seasons coon pelts. Just do something. Anything. You are overthinking what to do with $6.00 pelts!!!.

Is this to meet manufacturing timelines for the winter season?

The traditional time for both Auction companies for the big sales was Feb (Early March) and May (Early June). We are far out of alignment these days. You could get into Feb sale usually with LRD near the end of Dec beginning of Jan.

While they may accept some fur after the last receiving date, I think for most shippers the local pickup date becomes the last receiving date. There is a lot of fur in freezers yet that won't make a mid January pick up. It would be nice if there was a second later pickup for the April sale but I understand that may not be practical.

So coonman, you never answer us about the thought of splitting up what you have now and sell some locally and send some to FHA. Several people have laid out that option for you. Why not try it?? You keep holding out hope that the "unknown" of the auction is going to get you more money. Probably not this year but I guess you can try. I don't know if you're a gambler or not, but most people who go to the casinos on a regular basis don't come out ahead. Break up the routine and have a flexible plan.
